There were thirteen projects at the Pre-Incubation Bootcamp CITES-UNC 2018

More than 140 projects from all over the world responded to the CITES Startups Call, the program of acceleration that on its 2018 edition we boosted together with the National University of Córdoba (UNC, by its Spanish acronym). As we had announces some of the projects were selected to participate from Pre-Incubation Bootcamp CITES-UNC 2018 that was carried out at the Scientific Technological Park of UNC, in the city of Córdoba.

There were thirteen projects in total: 9 from Córdoba city, 1 from San Francisco (Córdoba), 1 from Rosario (Santa Fe), 1 from San Carlos de Bariloche (Río Negro) and 1 from Santiago de Chile (Chile). These projects are related to different areas: air spatial, agtech, edtech, medical devices, neurosciences, biotech, foodtech and finTech.

The pitch competition of these projects had a winner, Becual, while three teams shared the second place (GBot, Dines and Wiglex). There were many aspects assessed, such as the reason of the company, quality of presentation, market size, growth, value proposal, regulatory and intellectual property. The aim is to continue working intensively with the 13 projects that were part in order to keep boosting their business cases.

Furthermore, during the Bootcamp there were speeches of national and international speakers, from CITES, from the incubated startups and from the companies and entities that supported the call (Universidad Católica de Córdoba, UVITEC, Incutex, Agencia Córdoba Innovar y Emprender, CEPROCOR, INVAP, ARCOR, Novartis, AACREA, Renault, and ANDEN UTN-FRC).

It is important to remember that for those projects that are selected we offer an investment of up to USD 500,000 + USD 100,000 in in-kind services; active management from CITES staff; access to investors networks, strategic partners and global level experts; access to a national and international technological entrepreneurs environment; mentors with well-known international experience in the scientific and business areas; Training Workshops specifically for technological entrepreneurs and Management Services (Marketing, Legal, Human Resources, among others).
