The director of technology transfer of CONICET visited CITES

On Friday, February, 26th, the Director of Technology Transfer of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET, by its Spanish acronym), Mg. Juan Carlos Soria, visited the Center for Technological, Business and Social Innovation (CITES) that Grupo Sancor Seguros has in Sunchales, Santa Fe province, as part of his tour among partner companies of the city.

There, Soria and the Coordinator of the Area Intellectual Property of the Direction of Technological Transfer, Clara de Hertelendy, were received by CITES Manager, Nicolás Tognalli, who gave them a tour through the facilities and a presentation detailing main activities and projects of the Innovation Center, dedicated today 80% to the technology-based business incubation and 20% to services of technological innovation, both for big companies and for SMEs of the region.

“Our main objective is to generate knowledge and develop highly trained human resources capable to do it, not only for the scientific-technological advance, but also for the national development and a better life quality for people. In Technological Transfer we handle all those tasks that allow knowledge to have a positive impact in society”, explained Soria.

“In Argentina we have a great challenge, consisting in how to have more technology-based businesses. In this sense, for CONICET, CITES is a prominent partner, since it has an important role in those projects of technological development that end up in the creation of new companies. In this way, together with other actors, it contributes to the strengthening of this environment”, concluded the Director of Technology Transfer.
