On July 10th, the Minister of Industry of the Nation, Débora Giorgi, received authorities from our Group, who introduced to her the advances made by the Center for Technological, Business and Social Innovation (CITES), opened at the end of last year in Sunchales. In the meeting participated the President of the Group, Alfredo Panella; the CEO of Sancor Seguros International, Alejandro Simón, and the Secretary of the Group and Vice-President of CITES, Carlos Ingaramo. During the meeting, the representatives of CITES highlighted the 15 million pesos investment that was made last year and they also emphasized the objectives of CITES, which aims to create a conglomerate of technology-based companies, incubate new projects, provide counseling to companies and give access to executive education.
On the other hand, they informed about the plan to expand the facilities of CITES with a bigger building and new laboratories that would increase the number of scientists and technologists, in order to foster productive development in Argentina. Currently, CITES is incubating biotechnology projects for the automation of laboratories and the development of innovative drugs and agrochemicals; nanotechnology projects for the development of pollutant detection equipment for the dairy industry and agrochemical monitoring; and IT projects for geo-referenced risk management services. All of these products count with great export markets.
Among the technological innovation services provided to this date, it is important to highlight a heat detection sensor for cattle, additives to improve food products and counseling regarding engineering issues. Looking towards innovation and growth, CITES continues to move forward to foster the development of companies in the region.
