CITES launches the second edition of DTB, a Venture Builder program specially designed for scientists, entrepreneurs, and advanced students in Uruguay who wish to transform scientific ideas into high-impact global businesses..
What does the program offer?
DEEPTECH BOOST is a virtual mentoring program consisting of 7 sessions of 1.5 hours each (2:00 to 3:30 p.m.), where participants will gain the tools and knowledge necessary to enter the deeptech ecosystem. Throughout the program, we will explore topics ranging from idea validation to financial planning and team development, accompanying projects from their earliest stages.
Who is it for?
The program is aimed at scientists, PhD and postdoctoral fellows, and advanced students with projects in early stages (ideas, MVPs, or pre-seed) who seek to position themselves within the deeptech entrepreneurial ecosystem. At CITES, we promote the inclusion of diverse perspectives by welcoming participants from different backgrounds and experiences.
Topics covered:
- Introduction to the Venture Capital industry in deeptech
- Idea validation and product development
- Intellectual property, patents, and regulatory frameworks
- Financing and financial planning
- Team building and organizational culture
Expected outcomes
During the 7 sessions, participants will develop a solid business case with the support of deeptech experts. At the end of the program, there will be a Demo Day, where participants will present their projects to our team and industry specialists. Some outstanding projects may advance to a thorough Due Diligence process for the co-creation of a deeptech startup aligned with our investment thesis.
Timeline:
Call for Applications Opens: October 6, 2025
Application Deadline: October 27, 2025
Workshops and Final Demo Day: November 11 to December 11, 2025
Interested participants must complete and submit their application through this form.
The CITES team will evaluate the possibility of selecting some projects that reach the Demo Day stage to begin a detailed Due Diligence process, aimed at refining and defining a business case that fits within the CITES II fund’s deeptech investment thesis.
Additionally, participants will receive ongoing support for up to two years, including access to laboratories and advanced technical resources, as well as strategic guidance in various areas to foster the sustainable growth of their startups.
