Closure of CITES startups 2018 call with projects from five continents

With a great participation which was translated into 149 applications from all over the world, the call for the edition 2018 of CITES Startups closed. CITES Startups is a program of acceleration which, in this opportunity, is boosted together with the National University of Córdoba (UNC, by its Spanish acronym).

It is important to remember that such program was aimed at finding projects on Agro Technology; Biotechnology, Logistics; Mobility; Renewable Energies; Medical Technology, Food Technology; Telecommunications; Banking Technology; Insurance and Finance, that have a prototype or proof of concept based on protectable intellectual property and which aim at global growing markets.

Among all the projects presented, eight were selected to participate from the Pre-Incubation Bootcamp that will be carried out in Córdoba from July, 31st – August 3rd at the Scientific Technological Park of UNC, so as to work intensively in the boosting of the business case with specialized people within the area. Furthermore, there will be speeches from referents from the entrepreneur environment and from big companies that develop innovation within their business.
What is more, for those projects that are selected we offer an investment of up to USD 500,000 + USD 100,000 in in-kind services; active management from CITES staff; access to investors networks, strategic partners and global level experts; access to a national and international technological entrepreneurs environment; mentors with well-known international experience in the scientific and business areas; Training Workshops specifically for technological entrepreneurs and Management Services (Marketing, Legal, Human Resources, among others).
