On Friday, May, 6th, in the co-working space the Center of Technological, Business and Social Innovation (CITES) has in Sunchales, Santa Fe province, it was carried out the Demo Day of CITES Ideas 2016, the initiative that the company from Grupo Sancor Seguros launched for the first time this year with the objective of transforming IT ideas into MVPs (Minimum Viable Projects) within an acceleration program of three months.
It is important to highlight that while registration to the program was opened, 122 projects were registered from different parts of the country, Latin America, Canada and United States which must have an application in any of the following fields: Fintech/Banking, AgroTech, HealthTech, InsuranceTech and Data Analytics.
At the event attended members of the 10 projects that were selected as finalists (Quiena, BSE Salud y Deportes, VAQapp, 3Dlab, Threedo, Disruptive Science, Coffr, CloudCero, Bitpayments y Primus) and which are competing for a financing of up to 20.000 dollars, development of the strategy for protecting intellectual property with an agency of Israel, mentoring and the possibility of entering Cites Startups 2016 (pre-incubation program to CITES) and of receiving an investment of 500.000 dollars.
In the first place, Nicolás Tognalli, CITES Manager, welcomed the attendees and provided an institutional presentation. Then, the awards in cash were granted to the corresponding winners of CITES Ideas – Coding Contest: a brief problem solving contest through digital computers programming. Next, Oren Gershtein (Israeli entrepreneur, specialist in technological incubators and CITES advisor) delivered the speech “Why to manage your venture in CITES”.
Finally, the finalist projects were exposed by their respective entrepreneurs. In the following days, CITES jury will deliberate in order to determine the three winners.
